The Library is situated on the first floor of the school at a central location which is easily accessible by all pupils.

lib1.gif There is no need to remember cards as the biometric finger print scanner in the library allows pupils to have access to a wide variety of resources including computers newspapers magazines audio cassettes DVDs videos,( both educational and recreational ) as well as fiction, non- fiction and reference books.

It is a quick and efficient service for our whole school community. There are also photocopying and scanning facilities in the library. The HP colour printer is also very popular with students and staff.

Our enthusiastic and multi-talented Year 13 and 14 pupil librarians help out with junior classes and during lunch times and at break. The pupils also enjoy visiting authors and story tellers. The year eight pupils enjoyed the visit from Eleanor Updale the author who wrote Montmorency and the storytelling of Billy Teare and Liz Weir. There are usually several competitions organised during the year for Halloween, Christmas, Easter and Summer Term.

The money raised goes to various charities e.g. Book Aid and Action Cancer. The school has a long term association with the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children running a Readathon every other year. We have currently raised over 60 thousand pounds for the charity, and the Readathon Bugs were designed at our suggestion.
