The Wallace High School Netball Club ended a superb season with an excellent day at the Ulster SchoolsCup Finals in Lisburn Racquets Club last week. The Wallace Intermediate squad, badly depleted due to injury, were unfortunate to be defeated 44 – 28 by Assumption Grammar in the Cup Final.
Last week was a particularly exciting and busy one for boys’ hockey players in The Wallace High School. The Under 14XI played FSL in the Ferris Cup Final whilst four Wallace junior sides also played their FSL counterparts, three of these matches in the Blaris Shield. Congratualions to The Wallace High School Girls’ hockey teams who enjoyed a clean sweep in last week’s Lagan Valley League. In the final, the Under 13 XI defeated Methodist College Belfast by 2 – 0 , with Wallace goals coming from centre forward Chloe Harrsion and right wing Adele Rodgers.
Two pupils from The Wallace High School recently attended the annual Northern Ireland Youth Parliament. Rebecca and Robert joined teenagers from across the province to discuss the future of academic selection in schools. Guest speakers for the day were MP Martin McGuinness and Sir Kenneth Bloomfield, former Head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service.
Last week was another busy one for the boys’ hockey team in The Wallace High School with a combination of Cup and friendly matches.
