National Geographic Championships

jamie.pngWallace High School Year 12 pupil Jamie had the experience of a lifetime over the summer as he represented the United Kingdom in the National Geographic World Championship, competing against sixteen nations from across the world.

Worldly Wise

The Wallace High School Year 11 student has been selected to represent the United Kingdom at the National Geographic World Championship. Results 2007

alevel.pngLast week saw Year 12, Lower and Upper Sixth pupils gather at The Wallace High School to receive their examination results. Principal Mrs McBride commented, “We are once again delighted with our A level results this year and would congratulate all our pupils on their achievements. Platinum Awards 2007

psmall.pngThe Wallace High School held a special end of year ceremony last week in recognition of the tremendous achievement of eighteen of its Junior School pupils. The pupils, from Years 8 and 9, have all achieved platinum Awards in the school’s merit system.

chems.pngCongratulations to the Wallace High Lower Sixth team who came third in the recent regional heat of the Royal Society of Chemistry Schools’ Analyst Competition hosted by Stranmillis College, Belfast. The team - Christopher Nettleship, Adam Powell and Keith Moore won £100 to spend on equipment for the department.

This competition involved teams of three sixth-form Chemistry students, representing 13 schools from throughout Northern Ireland, carrying out chemical analysis. The students were assessed on their accuracy, precision and team work. This year the competition was sponsored by Norbrook Pharmaceuticals with the prizes awarded by Lynsay Cunningham from the company’s corporate section. Read the rest of this entry »
