Eat Safe Award

5207.jpgThe Wallace High School was last week recognised by Lisburn City Council as the first school in the area to receive the Foods Standards Agency’s Eat Safe Award.The Award was introduced by the Agency in 2003 as a way of recognising businesses which go above and beyond the requirements of current legislation and meet the highest standards of food hygiene. Public Speaking Awards

271106.jpgWallace High School Lower Sixth pupil Lisa McCord last week won the Lisburn and District Public Speaking Competition. This was the third successive year which a Wallace pupils has won the coveted award, with Charlotte Mitchell winning in 2004 and Sarah Kee in 2005. Four Wallace pupils competed against girls from Malone College, Hunterhouse College and Friends’ School, with Year 12 Wallace pupil Alex Greenfield being highly commended. Awards Ceremony

16806.jpgThe Wallace High School recently held a special afternoon ceremony for all those in the Junior School receiving special merit Awards. Pupils in Years 8, 9 and 10 were joined by their families, Primary school teachers and Form staff at the event held in the school library. 161204.jpgCharlotte Mitchell, a Lower Sixth pupil at The Wallace High School , was presented with the Lisburn District Soroptomists’ Public Speaking award.
Girls from Wallace, Hunterhouse College, Friends’ School, St Patrick’s High and Malone College competed in a hotly contested final. Charlotte’s chosen topic was “Spelling and grammar in the modern world”. Read the rest of this entry »
