Strictly Dance Fever hit Wallace High Schoool last week with a special gala evening held to raise funds for the NI Children’s Hospice. Inspired by the continuing success of past pupil Rebecca Leonard on BBC1’s Strictly Dance Fever, the eight Wallace couples, each a staff pupil pairing, took to the dancefloor in front of a capacity audience.
Several weeks of intensive training by the dances certainly paid off . Some of the pupils involverd are actually pupils of Rebecca’s and have enjoyed working with her in both Lisnagarvey Operatic and Fusion Theatre productions. Ballroom dancing was also on display in Wallace’s recent production of George Beranrd Shaw’s Pygmalion. The gala evening was hosted by Lower Sixth pupils Joel Robinson and David Mulholland and the judges were teachers Debbie Wallace, David Cleland and Jonny Reid. Read the rest of this entry »
Upper Sixth pupils from The Wallace High School took time from their busy study schedule to organise a charity fashion show last week. Forty pupils modelled in the well attended event, which had been organised to raise funds for the Swaziland Schools’ Project.

Generous pupils at The Wallace High School have certainly not been “Kidding around” during the final days of term. Everyone at the Clonevin Park School has been busy collecting money for the Great Goat Challenge, with each class set aiming to buy at least one goat to help villages in the developing world. Wallace High School pupils have been busy in the last few weeks with a series of charitable events. Prep pupils, along with members of Junior SU, filled over one hundred shoe boxes as part of Operation Christmas Child. These boxes will be sent to orphanges in Eastern Europe.
