The Wallace High School Senior Girls hockey players have a busy few weeks ahead. This week the Clonevin Park girls are heading off on an exciting development tour to Barcelona.They will spend several days at the state of the art Atletic Teressa hockey complex, which boasts several water based Astroturf pitches. They will also make extensive use of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym and spa facilities. As well as benefitting from several intensive session with top coaches, the Wallace girls will play two matches against local clubs. The Wallace High School’s Girls’ Under 15 Cricket season came to a spectacular end last week with Wallace once again bringing the Cup home to Clonevin Park. Three Wallace High School Hockey players last week represented Ireland at Under 16 level in Manchester. They played three games against their English counterparts at the Bellevue Hockey complex which is the venue for the senior men’s European championships later this year.
The Year 11 pupils, Peter Macdonnell, Stephen Hunter and Richard Arneill, were key performers for Ireland who emerged as 2-1 series champions. Indeed, Peter scored two goals in the final match which clinched the three match series. Read the rest of this entry »
Wallace High School netballers have commenced the season in style with several girls being awarded places on National squads.
Year 12 pupils Blessing Ogbobi and Rebecca Mitchell have won places on the Northern Ireland Under 17 National Squad whilst fellow Year 12 pupils Ashleigh McIntyre and Gemma Kidd have been selcted for the Northern Ireland Under 17 Development Squad. Read the rest of this entry »
