The Wallace High School boys’ 1st X1 hockey team again came agonisingly close to winning their first major title since the Burney Cup success of 2001 losing 2 – 4 to Banbridge Academy in a superb McCullough Cup final on Wednesday at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club.
The Wallace High School girls’ 1st X1 reached the quarter finals of the Schools Cup on Saturday after defeating Dalriada 3 – 1 after extra time. It was a closely fought encounter which Dalriada started well by dominating the opening eight minutes particularly by attacking down the right hand side.
