‘A’ Level High Achievers’ Coffee Morning

A coffee morning was recently held at The Wallace High School for students who had achieved 3 or 4 A* in their recent ‘A’ Level examinations. To achieve an A* students must achieve a minimum of 90% at A2 level.

The morning was attended by the following students who were just about to head off to the following universities:

Alison Bready – Stranmillis College, Belfast –Primary Teaching
Octavian Focsa – Imperial College, London – Physics
Chloe Harris – Newnham College, Cambridge – Asian and Middle Eastern Studies
Dean Irvine – St Catherine’s College, Oxford – Engineering
Hamilton Orr – Glasgow University – Medicine
Glenda Ward – Glasgow University – Veterinary medicine
Joanne Stewart – Newnham College, Cambridge –Modern and Medieval Languages
Colin Matthews – Imperial College, London – Chemical Engineering and also a recipient of the JP McManus All Ireland Scholarship which is an award of £5500 annually for the duration of his degree

The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr Graham Sutton and Principal, Mrs O’Hare, congratulated the students on these outstanding achievements. Vice-Principals, Mr Alastair Craig and Mr David Cleland, also joined the students to share in the celebrations.
