Mrs O’Hare, Principal is delighted with the results achieved by the students studying AS or A2 at Wallace this year. In her comment she paid tribute to the efforts of the young people, their teachers and their parents.

“An impressive 34 students in Upper Sixth have achieved 3 or 4 A grades. The introduction of the new A* grade this year has served a pleasing number of our students very well indeed with Jamie Clements, Jonathan Crean and Lyndsay Creswell and Clare Smyth each having their hard work and exceptional ability rewarded with 4 A* grades and Emma Davidson, Lynda Newell, Andrew Oliver, Jamie Pow and James Thompson each being richly rewarded with 3 A* grades.”

She recognised too that not all students are capable of achieving straight A grades and was keen to recognise the achievement of every young person. “Our young people, a majority of whom will now move on to university, have made realistic and career focused applications and degree choices. On behalf of the community of this school I wish them well in this next exciting chapter of their lives. It has been a privilege to work with them. ”

Results in Lower Sixth exceeded the school’s own ambitious targets. “Our Lower Sixth results have been extremely pleasing; our young people have worked diligently this year. They have laid a solid foundation for their A2 results next year and have realistic grade benchmarks from which to apply to university in the next couple of months. An impressive 11 students achieved 4 A grades.”
