11006.jpgWallace High School A level students have recently taken part in pioneering work with CAFRE ” the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise.

The school’s Upper Sixth Biology students took part in a curriculum development exercise with staff from the college, discussing the Foundation degree in Rural and Countryside Management which has been delivered by Greenmount campus since 1998.

This course is currently undergoing development regarding both title and content, with the aim of enhancing its appeal to all those potential students who are interested in conservation and the environment.

Dr David Patterson from CAFRE thanked both staff and students from The Wallace High School for their participation, commenting, “The Wallace pupils were most enthusiastic and came up with some super ideas for the future development of the degree.”

Upper Sixth pupil Sara Preston added,”It was very interesting learning about the courses on offer at CAFRE, particularly as we are currently in the process of completing our UCAS applications.”
