Capella visit Clonard Monastry

Written by | News

Twenty members of Wallace Capella recently made their way to the atmospheric Clonard Monastery in Belfast for a concert of contemporary music performed by Anuna. The main reason for attending was to support one of their past choristers, Vicki Warwick who recently became one of Anuna’s sopranos.

The evening was excellent, the usual McGlynn direction during which all sections of the monastery were used, with voices coming from all around the building. The famous ‘Jerusalem’ from the television series ‘The Tudors’ resounded in procession around the monastery walls. Michael McGlynn, director of Anuna dedicated ‘Dulaman’ to Capella and the singers were all very engaging after the concert.

Michael and some members of Anuna will come to Wallace later this term to provide Capella with a workshop, and we will perform more of his works at our concerts during the year.
