International Delegation Visits Wallace

Written by | News

Wallace High School recently hosted an international delegation of educationalists who were visiting Northern Ireland as part of a fact-finding mission.

The delegation consisted of representatives from the Israeli, Iraqi, Sri Lankan and Armenian ministries of education. The visitors’ primary aim was to find out how Citizenship is taught in schools in Northern Ireland and in particular what schools do to encourage Human Rights education.

The visitors were also keen to find out how the school council worked and Mr Craig and Richard Gill (10V) spoke of their experiences of the recently re-established school council.

Being asked by the British Council to host this visit was a great honour for the school and serves as recognition of high levels of pupil participation both inside the classroom and in the running of the school.
