Music Successes at Wallace

Written by | News

This past week has been quite eventful for some of the younger students at The Wallace High School.
Students from The Wallace High School have had great success in two recent competitions. Some of the younger students were entered by their singing teacher Ms Morris into the ‘Leading Ladies’ ‘ competition to find a young person to sing the now infamous ‘Snowman’.

The concert, to take place on December 1 st in the Ulster Hall, will feature a variety of music for Christmas. Not only did Elidh McKnight ( Year 8 ) win the competition, but two of the very young P4 students, Abigail Menown and Zoe Elmore, were also given solo lines within the show. We suspect that there will be many proud supporters in the audience.

Brass teacher, Mrs Leslie, also entered two of her brass students in the Holywood Music Festival last Monday. Accompanied by Head of Music, Mr Falconer, the two students took 1 st and 2 nd place in the Intermediate Brass competition.  Success was also achieved by Year 8 student, Ale Thompson, taking 2nd at Intermediate piano.
