Paris Trip 2015

Written by | News

A forty five strong group from The Wallace High School recently returned from a thoroughly enjoyable pre Easter educational trip to Paris.

Despite unpleasant, unseasonal weather conditions the trip was a great success, offering the opportunity for the Clonevin Park students to hone their linguistic talents and experience some of the cultural delights of the French capital. Highlights included climbing the Eiffel Tower, visiting L’Arc de Triomphe and window shopping on the exclusive Champs Élysées. A river cruise on La Seine afforded the students another view of the City of Lights and visits to Le Louvre and Notre-Dame ensured the heritage of the city was explored.

Year 10 pupil Rachael Scott enjoyed the experience and commented: “Our Sunday in Montmartre was amazing. We admired the beautiful Sacré Coeur church before wandering around the Place du Tertre, enjoying watching the street artists. We then went on a tour of the outstanding Stade De France which was wonderful for all the sports fans on the trip”.

Fellow Year 10 pupil Celina Robinette also really enjoyed the trip and commented: “Spending Saturday at Disneyland was an unforgettable experience and we all enjoyed the rides, parades and the many other fun activities on offer. All the students would like to thank Miss Ferguson, Miss Millar, Mr Beaton and Mr Alexander for giving up their time to take us to Paris. We enjoyed making new friendships, practising our French and learning about another culture.”

Tour organiser Miss Kerrie Ferguson concluded: “As always our students were wonderful ambassadors for their school and city and I have no doubt that their linguistic talents will have improved following their time in France.”
