Victorian Fayre

Written by | News, Preparatory & Pre-Prep

On Wednesday 14 December, the P7 children organised a Victorian Fayre.  The children were learning about life in Victorian times and their traditions at Christmas. The children made all the decorations in class and decided on a suitable price.

The stalls included:            A Victorian Bakery

                                        The Victorian Book Stall

                                        The Victorian Christmas Decorations Stall

The event was kindly sponsored by Johnston’s Coffee in Lisburn.  Phillip Mills and his colleague Trevor served freshly ground coffee to the staff of the grammar school.  “I am delighted that Johnston’s Coffee sponsored the event.  The Victorians were renowned for their love of coffee and we are very pleased that so many of our Wallace staff joined us for our Victorian Christmas Event.”

Many thanks for the tray bakes and contributions for the Victorian stalls.  As always the pupils and parents of the Preparatory Department were extremely generous.  The total amount raised was £327.52.  This amount will be gifted to Christians Against Poverty.  The money raised will be used to buy Christmas gifts for children living in poverty in Northern Ireland.

The P7 class were delighted with the amount raised.  Mrs Latham was extremely proud.
