Wallace GCSE PE Trip to Ardnabannon

Written by | News

The Wallace High School GCSE Physical Education classes recently attended a four day residential at Ardnabannon Outdoor Education Centre as part of their studies.

Whilst there, they took part in an intensive course in orienteering which can be used as part of their practical scores for final assessment and followed it up by attending an event in the Stormont grounds last Wednesday night arranged by the Lagan Valley Orienteers Club. They also had some free time at nights and enjoyed a beach walk from Merlough Bay to Newcastle and pizzas on their final evening.

Teacher in charge of the trip, Miss Linda Coughlan commented: “This is now an annual event for our GCSE classes and one which the pupils always benefit from. They enjoyed the competitive nature of and getting to test out their new found skills in the event at Stormont last Wednesday night.”
