A large number of students at The Wallace High School were delighted to learn that they had been placed in the top three in their respective subject examinations with the N Ireland Examination Board CCEA.

English and Welsh Examination Boards no longer provide this information and the school does enter students for a number of subjects in these areas. This year saw a high number of ranked students as follows: Stuart Wilson (1st in A Level German), Astrid Hampton (Joint 1st in A Level Art and Design), Chris Acheson (1st in GCSE Journalism), Jane Kirkpatrick (Joint 1st in GCSE Home Economics), Richard Gill (Joint 2nd in GCSE German), Stuart Quigg (Joint 3rd in GCSE German) and Katie Lockhart (Joint 3rd in GCSE Additional Mathematics)

The Principal, Mrs O’Hare, commented: “It is always pleasing to see the hard work of the students and the expert guidance of the teaching staff recognised in this manner. There are very many able students across N Ireland but it is clear that the teaching staff here stretch and challenge the most able young people and prepare them extremely well for these competitive examinations.”
