Our Careers Department has been exceptionally busy this term. From organising talks by education providers to supporting Year 14 pupils with their UCAS applications through PeopleHawk, there have been opportunities for every pupil from Year 8 upwards to start considering their future pathway.

The Wallace High Careers Fair returned for its second year, building on the outstanding success of last year’s event. Nearly 50 employers, education providers, and training organisations attended, offering expert advice and guidance to almost 1,000 students. This year’s fair continued to provide an invaluable platform for students to connect with industry professionals, explore a wide range of career pathways, and gain insights into the qualifications and skills needed for future success.
The enthusiasm and engagement shown by students was remarkable, reinforcing the importance of this initiative. Organised by the Wallace Careers Department, the fair is now a cornerstone of the school’s career development programme.
We would like to thank all the companies and education providers listed below for their continued support for our Careers Fair and providing our pupils with this amazing opportunity.

In October 2025, 180 Year 12 students took part in a transformative three-day Industry-Based Learning experience, stepping into real workplaces alongside employers of their choice. This hands-on opportunity allowed students to develop essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—skills that are vital for both academic success and future careers.
The programme continues to strengthen the link between classroom learning and workplace expectations, motivating students during this crucial GCSE year.
We extend our sincere thanks to all the companies and organisations listed below who support this initiative year after year, providing invaluable placements and insights that make this programme such a success.

Reflecting on a very successful term, Mrs Palmer, Head of Careers commented:
