Festive fare, festive rock and festive frocks!

Have you had a Christmas pizza? It was one of the many delicious offerings in the school canteen to build that all important festive atmosphere. Students also enjoyed the celebrated Christmas sandwich and traditionalists had the opportunity to go “full throttle” with a trial run for Christmas Day with a delicious plate piled high with turkey, ham, roasties, stuffing and the like or loathe compulsory green element of sprouts! To accompany these festive delights Mr Falconer had organised live music so eating was accompanied by our talented jazz musicians with Katie Scott of Year 14 providing a great vocal.

Our Festive Dressing Day was in aid of the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal and Simon NI; some pupils think North Face is equivalent to North Pole and favour black as a festive colour but others really embraced the potential for fun in the event with sensational outfits! Rudolph, Santa, Mrs Claus, Christmas trees all made appearances but Scarlett Mouncey as the Grinch really stole the show even impressing Year 12 …not an easy task.

As the term draws to a close we are thrilled to be able to thank you for your help in raising £13,000 for a wide range of charities; close to £6,000 has been raised for our legacy charity the Cancer Fund for Children taking our total to over £160,000.

We hope you enjoy these glimpses of a great day and wish you all a blessed season.
