School Name: The Wallace High School
Total Number of Places Available: 178
Total Number of Applications Considered: 309
The Wallace High School was highly oversubscribed and the Department of Education approved an increased admissions of 178 for one year only.
Of the 178 places allocated, 172 places were allocated to children who scored 205 and above and were placed in the relevant WHS SAS Groups. The school was oversubscribed in the Wallace SAS Group of children with a SEAG score of 203-204, of which there were 20 children. Within this Group, non-academic criteria were applied and children who met the non-academic criterion (d) being eldest child transferring from a feeder primary school] were assigned a randomised number then ranked according to this number. 3 of the 20 children were offered places.
If your child applied to Wallace and has not received an offer of a place, he/she is automatically on a waiting list, ranked according to the non-academic criteria he/she meets within each Wallace SAS Group. If a place becomes available, the school will contact you using the contact details you entered onto the EA Transfer Portal.
If you do not hear from the school during Year 8, you are welcome to apply for a place in Year 9. To do this, you can download an application form from our website (https://www.wallacehigh.org/about/admissions-criteria/admissions-non-yr8/), and send it to the school with a copy of your child’s Year 8 Winter Report (usually issued from schools between December – February and then a copy of the Year 8 Summer Report in June). If a place becomes available for Year 9, the children on the waiting list will be considered according to the admissions criteria which is available on the school website.
