Busy Week for Hockey

=The Wallace High School Senior Girls hockey players have a busy few weeks ahead. This week the Clonevin Park girls are heading off on an exciting development tour to Barcelona.They will spend several days at the state of the art Atletic Teressa hockey complex, which boasts several water based Astroturf pitches. They will also make extensive use of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym and spa facilities. As well as benefitting from several intensive session with top coaches, the Wallace girls will play two matches against local clubs. The girls are also looking forward to a day’s sightseeing in the beautiful city.

hg1.pngShortly after their return to Lisburn, the Wallace girls’ First XI are off on their travels once again, heading to Dublin to play Wesley College. They are also looking forward to supporting the Wallace Boys’ First xi who are competing in the All Ireland Schools’ championship in Dublin. This tour to Dublin will also include a fantastic opportunity for the girls to watch the Irish Ladies squad compete against Australia at university College Dublin. [Click on Photo for Larger View]

Tour organiser Louise MacDonnell commented,“We are all looking forward to the Barcelona tour as we will no doubt learn a great deal from the superb coaching on offer as well as playing against some tough competition. The tour itself will act as a wonderful bonding opportunity for the girls and will be an excellent platform for their cup matches in the coming months. The development squad have had a busy start to their season and are a very committed bunch of players, attending weekly early morning fitness sessions as well as training several times a week.
