From the outset the Lisburn girls realised they were up against some tough opposition, with both sides determined to make a mark no the score sheet. Antrim started well, taking the lead with two well taken goals before half time.

Wallace refused to let their heads sdrop and some inspirational motivational advice from Captain Nicky Allen meant that they went out to the second half with a renewed sense of vigour.Excellent skills on display from Alison Price following a well set up penalty corner saw Wallace score their first goal. Reluctant to rest on her laurels, Alison equalised within minutes. With both sides hungry for that all important winning goal, defensive work was high on the agenda and the final whistle saw the score remain at 2- 2.

Wallace stepped up their play with the forwards and midfielders giving their all – congratulations going to fourth year Sophie McNeice for scoring Wallace’s third goal. Spurred on, the entire team then went on the attack, with even the right back taking her chances at goal. Laura Johnston quickly slotted home another two goals to leave the final score at 5 -2.

The girls are now looking forward to their Quarter final match against Coleraine.
Well done to the entire squad and good luck in the quarter finals!
