The official opening of the Montessori Pre Prep facility at the Wallace High School took place on 13 May. Around fifty parents and friends of the new pre-school provision witnessed Principal, Mrs Deborah O’Hare alongside two young pupils cut the ribbon to the new Pre Prep Wing of the Preparatory Department.

Mrs Corinne Latham, Head of the Preparatory Department formally welcomed the new pupils and parents into the Wallace High School family. “It is as honour to welcome so many children into our school today and we look forward to watching them blossom throughout their future years at the Wallace High School.”

Mrs Latham formally thanked the Principal, Governors and staff of the school for the support and vision in making the Pre Prep a reality. She also mentioned the kind financial support of the PTA in providing new pre-school resources.

The Pre Prep provides morning and afternoon sessions for pre-school age children in the Lisburn area. The morning class is exclusively for pre-school aged children and the afternoon class is for children in their penultimate pre-school year.

Mrs O’Hare, Principal of the Wallace High School commented on the popularity of this approach. “The school has excellence within its values and we believe that the two classes provide parents with the opportunity to give child the developmentally appropriate experiences that they deserve. We are delighted that applications are already being received for September 2012.”
