The Preparatory Department celebrated European Languages day on Monday 26 September. The children came appropriately dressed for a day with a European flavour. Parents were very creative and a child in P2 even brought his gondola! After an assembly which helped the children understand our value of respect. The children enjoyed the fancy dress parade and the judging panel selected the winning costumes. In Primary one to three the children enjoyed learning about France.
Mrs O’Hare visited the P4 class and taught French, Mrs Morwood taught Dutch to P5, Mrs Kennedy taught Italian to P6 and Mrs Elmore taught Spanish to P7. All the children enjoyed the lessons from these language specialists. In the afternoon, the children were treated to a European Food Fair. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed sampling traditional foods from a range of European Countries. Many thanks to all parents who provided food for the fair.
