Spring Concert 05

3505.jpgThe Wallace High School Music Department held its annual concert last week.

The event was well attended on both evenings, with staff, parents and friends thoroughly enjoying the superb range of talents on display.
The event was particularly poignant for Head of Music in Wallace, Mr Robert Thompson, who will leave the school in June.

The first half of the programme was varied and dynamic, including performances form the school’s choir and orchestra. A particular highlight was the guitar performance of Clark Philips , Jonathan Kerr and Peter Coleman.

The second half was also superb. Vivaldi’ s Gloria was both moving and technically excellent. Solo perfromances were given by Lower Sixth pupil Edward McMullan and past pupils Rachel Thompson and Ruth Sedgewick.
The Department is now preparing for Evensong at St Anne’s Cathedral later this month.
