Wallace Showjumping

2406.jpgThe Wallace High School showjumping team “The Wallace High Flyers” lifted the Belfast Royal Academy Winter League title last week with a clear margin over rummers up, Our Lady and St Patrick’s College, Knock almost thirty schools from across the province took par tin the league over the winter months.

The Lisburn girls, Kathryn Henderson, Sasha Burns, Rebekah Ward and Natalie Burns had entered the tighly contested final with the four top schools all within a few points of each other.

Rebekah Ward explained, “We as a team managed to keep our cool to earn a place in the jump off. Double points were available in the final and we’re all delighted to have won.The BRA league has been great fun and we’re very grateful to the support shown by Mrs McClenaghan, Dora Beacom and the PTA.”

Sasha Burns went on, “The course was fantastic and the turnout on Saturday evenings has been amazing. Belfast Royal Academy deserve credit for organising sucha a superb competition. Our prizes of horse blankets are excellent too.”

The Clonevin Park School’s two show jumping teams -The Wallace High Flyers and the Wallace Rockets are now looking forward to this weekend’s conclusion of the Mossvale League.
