Developing Science in Lisburn

Written by | News

The Wallace High School has secured funding from the National Science Learning Centre to promote and lead professional development in science education within the Lisburn area.

Wallace was selected on merit of their commitment to professional development of science teachers through training provided by the centre. Chemistry teachers Miss Bamberry and Dr McMath, who put together the proposal and will be leading the venture, are delighted.

An initial cluster group has been set up which includes Wallace High School, Moira Primary, Wallace Preparatory Department and Pond Park Primary.

Through a collaborative approach they will look at developing teaching and learning of science, by ensuring that teachers obtain the necessary knowledge, competencies and training.
