Grand Voyager for Wallace

Written by | News

Wallace High School’s Parent Teacher Association presented the school with a Chrysler Grand Voyager MPV this week. The PTA is a thriving Association, led by Chairman Jim Ward and a committee of parents and staff from both the Prep and Grammar schools. A busy schedule of events punctuates the Wallace calendar, from golf outings to quizzes, BBQs to dances.

Whilst the social aspect of the Association is undoubtedly important, its central aim is fundraising. Thanks to the hard work of the PTA, over the past year a new PAS system has been installed in the assembly Hall, benefitting the school’s many concerts and theatrical productions. Other items purchased recently include tents for the school’s popular Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, jackets and horse blankets for Wallace’s equestrian team and crested kits for the swimming team.

The PTA is currently investigating the development of a bespoke play area for the Prep school and is also sponsoring February’s Battle of the Bands, a showcase for the school’s many musicians. Jim Ward commented, ” The MPV will be particularly useful when small teams of pupils need to travel to fixtures or conferences. Indeed it will have its maiden journey next weekend when our swimming team competes in the Irish Championships in Galway.

Thanks must go to the many parents and friends of the school who support our many events.”
