A group of 19 Yr12-14 French students from the Wallace High School accompanied by Miss Brown and Romain Mience, the French Assistant, recently spent some very chilly days visiting the sights of the City of Light. Visits included the Eiffel Tower, a boat trip on the Seine, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Montparnasse Tower, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie and the Sainte Chapelle, the Pompidou Centre, the Sacre Coeur and the Orsay Museum. While the temperatures may have plummeted, spirits were high throughout this language intensive visit when pupils bought their own Metro tickets, learned how to navigate the Paris Metro system and were ‘obliged’ to speak in French with the travelling teachers. The exemplary behaviour of the group and their enthusiasm to ‘have a go’ made the trip a great success. Merci à tous!
