Three Year 14 pupils from The Wallace High School rounded off their school career in Public Speaking with a 1st place finish in the North/South Business and Professional Women’s Public Speaking Competition in Dublin. Chloe Webb (Chair), Hannah Gardiner (Speaker) and Jonathan Scott (Expressor of Thanks) came through the Belfast and Northern Ireland heats before heading to Dublin last weekend where they competed against four other schools.
Hannah spoke about young people and their participation in Politics and all three pupils impressed the judging panel with their skills. Team member Chloe Webb was delighted with the success, particularly as it was their last school event together as a team: “I would like to thank Mrs Emma Rogers on behalf of the team for all her help and although she could not attend the competition she had us well prepared. It is so nice for us all to go out on a high note and to win such a prestigious competition is obviously a real honour for us as a team and for the school.”
