Sports Day 2010

Written by | Sport

A glorious sunny day ensured that the competitors and spectators at the recent Wallace High School Sports Day enjoyed themselves immensely. As always there were a wide range of events on offer for both the serious, competitive athletes to the less competitive pupils. From long jump to welly wanging, sprinting to tug of war and long distance to shot there was something on offer for all pupils from Years 8 – 11.

The Sports Day took the form of an individual competition where pupils compete against other athletes in their year group in a multi activity based competition, whilst running alongside was the traditional House competition.

Head of the PE Department Neil Hinds commented: “The Sports Day is a much looked forward to event in the school calendar and provides opportunities for all our pupils in Years 8 – 11 to compete in both serious and fun activities. We were really lucky this year with the weather and I would like to congratulate all pupils on their performances. I would also like to thank all the staff who helped with the orgainisation and running of the event.”
