Year 11 pupils Lucy and Peter from The Wallace High School enjoyed a busy Halloween, warm weather training for one week in Tenerife with the Ulster Schools’ squad.
Both pupils were selected and included in a squad of 22 and Lucy had the added honour of being the vice captain for the girls’ team. Whilst there, they both prepared for the upcoming Short Course Nationals in Galway, with Peter hoping to compete well in the 1500 metre freestyle and Lucy in the 100 metre butterfly.
Commenting on the trip Lucy said: “Training in warm conditions in Tenerife was superb and I certainly feel that it will benefit me greatly throughout the season.” Peter added, “We are both now really looking forward to the Short Course Nationals where the preparations should stand us in good stead.”
All at Wallace would like to congratulate both pupils for their success and wish them all the best for the season ahead.
