A number of Wallace High School netballers have achieved success in their sport in recent weeks. Year 12 pupil Nikki Miller represented the South Eastern Area in the Podium for Sport tournament and was instrumental in the squad returning with gold medals.
Year 14 pupils Sophie McClean, Sarah Montgomery, Rebecca Poots and Caroline Davis and Year 13 pupil Julie Whitten have been handed the chance to impress the national selectors having been picked in the Northern Ireland training squad for the under 19 European Championships to be held at Loughborough in March 2010.
This is an exciting opportunity for the girls and all at the school wish them success in the coming months as they attempt to make the squad for this prestigious competition.
The junior team also enjoyed recent success with a 42 – 9 victory against Limavady Grammar School in the Northern Ireland Cup. They now await the winner from the game between Lumen Christi and Sacred Heart College.
